Welcome to my blog! I am really excited about getting back into blogging about books. My muse has been failing me lately and I haven’t felt inspired to tackle my own pieces of a novel. It’s hard to focus on that when you have ADHD, OCD…I struggle with sticking with just one thing.
However, the one thing that remains a constant in my life is I love to read. My parents read to me from infancy and encouraged me to read as I got older. By the time I was three, I read on my own. I feel very blessed to have that passion for books that I do. If it sounds interesting or looks interesting, I will give it a go. What’s the worst that could happen, right? I do tend to stick with historical fiction novels admittedly; however, I'm not afraid to try something new.
My favourite sort of books are historical fiction (I know, I just said that) and horror. I enjoy classics (Gone With The Wind!) and some modern books (Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Divergent). I also enjoy biographies, which many people find dry. That saddens me as I think it’s brilliant to be able to read about someone extraordinary or someone who has differing views or … I am prattling on, I’m sorry. I do that sometimes.
The title of my blog is ‘With Her Nose Stuck In A Book’, which is a line from my all time favourite (animated) movie, Beauty and the Beast. I always related to Belle the most of all the Disney Princesses since she liked to read. When you’re a seven year old who'd rather read than play, having a character like Belle show people reading was cool, was awesome. Thus, she has remained my favourite and I chose to honour her this way. I also gave my blog the URL of 'a peculiar mademoiselle', which is also an homage to Belle but I'm told often that I'm unusual and I thought it would be fun to tie that in here.
So, that’s a bit about me. I will gladly tell you more; you can ask me anything you would like. :)
